Here’s the first post in my edublog – I’m fairly new to all of this sort of thing so I’ve been scrabbling around in this web 2.0 world looking for ideas that I can use in the classroom.

I teach children aged 10 / 11 years old and really want this blog to simply be about practical ideas that can be used properly to improve children’s learning.   Sometimes I think that we try and force the learning to fit the technology and not the other way round!

So on that basis I’m going to keep this blog all about the children’s learning.  The ideas that I post are not always going to be my own, but I’m sure that I’ll be forgiven as I’ll make sure that I include any links etc to the originators.   Any additional ideas / feedback for the ideas would be great.

firstly welcome to the world of edublogging, I ma usre that you will find as your personal learning network grows that ideas for using the technology as the means to an educational end will appear. As you say we do sometimes try to make the learning fit the technology ( I think this happens more when we actually try to apply QCA methods to teaching – the new orders give more scope for creativity and this is where the true nuggets of gold actaully exist – making connections with pupils and teachers around the world in meaningful collaborative projects is what will really make the whole thing fit together – I will taking your feeds and reading with interest – once agin welcome.
